Securing rangelands resources for pastoralists in Tanzania through joint village land use planning

In December 2015, the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (MALF) in Tanzania signed a collaborative research agreement to jointly implement the third phase of the Sustainable Rangeland Management Project (SRMP), in which the key innovation of the is joint village land use planning, to secure resources such as grazing areas shared across village boundaries. The International Land Coalition’s biennial Global Land Forum (GLF) took place in Dakar, Senegal on 12-14 May 2015.
